  • From Anonymous

"Coupled with her bedside manner, targeted self-help book recommendations, and expertise in EMDR and inner child work, my sessions with Stephanie have been instrumental in advancing my healing journey. Additionally, they have fostered personal growth by helping me gain an understanding of myself. Since Day 1, she has provided comprehensive, compassionate, responsive, non-judgmental, and flexible care and support. "

  • From JS

"I feel heard and safe to be able to openly share without feeling any judgement or shame. She helped me see how my past was affecting my life and then she guided me to overcome these obstacles. I've learned how to take care of myself, set boundaries, be nice to myself and be more accepting of others. She helped give me the courage to make a major career change and to successfully start my own company. This has been an amazing journey that I could not have done without her support."

  • From JD

“Her skillful application of modalities such as EMDR, CBT, DBT, meditation and community support have been uniquely instrumental in the transformation necessary for my sustained sobriety, healing and recovery. I consider myself blessed to find a therapist whose expertise is capable of addressing the full complexities and complications of trauma within the subtext of recovery. I continue my journey with her confident and assured that I am being guided, directed and safely led towards a path of healing and personal growth within the myriad emotional, intellectual, behavioral, situational and spiritual challenges of everyday life.”

FAQ

  • We use an integrative approach and tailor the methodologies to each client because different things work for different people. Generally we see relational and attachment wounds under a family systems model, which enables us to treat codependency, dysfunction and other relational challenges. We also view oppression under an intersectional feminist scope, which outlines that challenges with the gender binary are harming all genders. We typically use Eye-Movement Desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) in conjunction with mindfulness to help folks reprocess trauma and memories in an adaptive way. Depending on the client’s needs we may also use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to restructure cognitive distortions and negative beliefs and Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) to make additional neurological connections in the brain and anchors for somatic symptoms that may arise in the body.

  • No, we operate from a harm-reduction standpoint and are happy to meet you wherever you are on the path to recovery. We are glad that you are alive and showing up to receive help, which can be difficult. We do ask folks to refrain from using substances prior to our session if possible in order to maximize effectiveness and get the most out of therapy.

  • Yes! Self-help is the best free therapy that client’s can give themselves in-between sessions. We like to provide many resources for client’s so that they are not solely dependent on us to grow. Community support such as 12-step programs, group therapy, meditations, journaling and self-help books are highly encouraged! Additionally we don’t usually suggest resources that we haven’t vetted or used ourselves!

  • No, in our therapeutic relationship you are always the boss and treatment is always up to you! Help begins when you need us and ends whenever you say. Trauma can be a daunting mass to tackle and we are grateful to be able to help you unload the effects of abuse at whatever pace makes you most comfortable.

  • We are committed to affirm queer, transgendered and nonbinary people to the best of our ability. We fall under the spectrum ourselves and believe that the least we can do as helpers is honor your unique identity. If there is anything we can change or any pronouns or language you would like us to use, please let us know. We will do our best to hold your true self as sacred in our therapeutic relationship.
